Well, we made it to the new house! It was a long, complicated week but we made it. Mimi, nurse and grandma extraordinaire, watched Reagan at the hospital while we closed on the new house and started our move last Wednesday. We were sad not to have Reagan at closing with us but she could have cared less, as you can see. She was the star of the hospital. All of the nurses wanted to hold her and were sad to see her get discharged Wednesday night. Unfortunately she had to bring her new friend the NG tube home with her. And it was baptism by fire for Mommy because she barely let Mommy get a rest in at home before she ripped out the NG tube and Mommy had to reinsert it.
In the midst of the moving, I got to go see Grandma Cookie aka Great Grandma Corky and play with Mimi, Pa and Gammy Sheryl. I spent the night and slept almost 12 hours, a personal record that really irks Mommy and Daddy because it was not on their watch. While we played and ate milkshakes, Mommy took Reagan back to Dr. Wichman for a quick check and everyone was elated she was up to 10 pounds 9.6 ounces and eating bottles on her own. Thus, when Reagan ripped her tube out the next time, Mommy didn't put it back in.
Unfortunately we haven't been very successful in unpacking. A return weight check for Reagan showed she had lost weight so Mommy and Daddy are pretty consumed with forcing bottles in her mouth. They had success and got her up a few ounces so no NG tube for now but that could change. Also, I have been toying with copying my sister and going into the hospital. Apparently when you play with the toys of sick kids at hospitals, you can get sick too. Since visiting sister, I have gotten a nasty case of bronchitis and am on three different meds. Lucky for me, Dr. Wichman is super awesome and trying to keep me and my wheezing from a trip to the hospital by checking me over whenever Reagan has an appointment...for free. Who does that??!! Here is a picture of me during my breathing treatment. Don't mind Mommy's face, she's a little tired. This was shortly before I head-butted her and gave her a fat lip. Turns out I am adamantly against breathing treatments.
Keep thinking those good thoughts for baby sister! We are hoping an evaluation at Children's Mercy Ready, Set, Grow clinic next week will keep her on the right track so we can get a break from the hospital and doctors' offices. I shall leave you with a picture of a midnight snuggle with my baby sister. Yes, I still wake up for her night feedings. Someone has got to make sure she is eating!
