T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Well the past few weeks, I have developed a little twinkle in my eye and have really started giving my parents a run for their money.

Mommy (accidentally, of course!) dislocated my elbow putting me back in my carseat at Target.  After I cried, she realized something was wrong, pulled me out of my seat, and saw my right arm hanging like a limp noodle.  She was a mess.  She called the doctor and they said it was Nursemaid's Elbow...which is apparently pretty common.  They could hear me laughing hysterically at her crying in the background, and said I was fine and they would fix me up as good as new.  It hurt when Dr. Wichman popped my elbow back in place and I was a little hesitant to use it, but when he dangled a prize box in front of my bad arm, I grabbed a toy so fast it made his head spin.  That's when we all knew I was ok!

We had a couple birthday celebrations for Mommy...three to be exact.  Gigi and Papa G came in from Topeka to celebrate. Here I am passed out on Papa G after some good playtime.

Mommy and I went out to breakfast on her big day with Mimi and Pa.  I had my first taste of big people food...whole wheat pancakes...YUM!  And we also went to Mimi and Pa's for birthday dinner and McClain's strawberry cake...I hear it was delicious!

I am getting a bit ornery these days...Mommy left the room for a minute and I scooted my exosaucer over to the bookshelf and went through the bins of toys to redecorate my play area.  Lesson learned: Mommy doesn't leave me alone anymore.

Dad has tried to curb my technology obsession with iPhones, iPads, laptops and remotes by giving me a broken iPod.  It's not my favorite, but it is a good substitute when my parents have hidden all of my other "toys".

Leland and I have begun playing lots of "games" during the day.  Leland has had to stop wearing his yellow leash around the house because I have taken to grabbing on to it and letting Leland drag me around. I am pretty good at hanging on...I am up to almost 4 seconds.  Maybe I will be a rodeo cowboy when I grow up?  Leland and I are also developing teamwork skills to open the step trash cans.  I crawl over and push on the pedal to open the lid, and Leland digs in for some treasures.  This is less than pleasing to my parents.

Mommy and Daddy tried feeding me pancakes the other morning for breakfast again.  This was my first time trying to feed myself.  I may have ended up with more pancake in my ear than my mouth, but I still had a pretty good time.

I shall leave you with a picture of Leland and I wishing you a Happy St. Paddy's day...Please excuse Leland; he is a little tired from all the festivities. Thanks Uncle Raleigh and Auntie Jessica for my cute St. Patrick's Day outfit...I love it! ;0)

Eight Months

Mommy and I have spent lots of time at home with contractors because Leland was a naughty boy.  As a Valentine's present, Leland tried to protect us from a passing car outside on the street and he broke through the window.  This caused a slew of window repair and replacement people to come out....who then noticed the front and back doors were rotten and needed to be replaced. This coupled with the expensive drainage problems has made for a stressful couple of weeks for the Groesbeck household.

I saw my first and second major snowstorms for a total of about 20 inches of snow.  Luckily the window repair guy fixed the window before the snow.  Daddy was holed up in his office for three days working from home and we had to try to be quiet so he could work.  Leland was not a fan but we did get some outside time in the snow one day and I LOVED it.

Being snowed in from taking our daily walks really inspired me to get moving.  Mommy and Daddy tried to bait me with technology to move more...it worked.

I started brushing my teeth...all three of them. I am getting pretty good at it. Mom and Dad hope the rest of my top teeth come in soon because they are afraid I am starting to look a like a little hillbilly.

Look Ma, no hands! I am doing a much better job of standing by myself.

Here I am lecturing my parents of the importance of buckling me in my seat as they eat their meals.  I decided to jump out and teach them a lesson about baby safety.

And, in case you did not mark your calendars, I am now eight months old.  I am growing hair and teeth like mad, perhaps because I am a champion eater.  I am still about 20 pounds and a little over 28 inches. My favorite things are: Leland, anything to do with technology, biting, baths, my cage bell (Mom and Dad say I put the Salvation Army bell ringers to shame), flipping on my stomach to sleep, grabbing/spilling people's drinks, exploring, music, pulling mom's hair, hugs and open mouth kisses for my parents.  My least favorite thing: sleeping.
