Shenanigans

I went on my first trip to Antioch Park with my buddy Brandon. I got on a swing for the first time. I was really unsure but Brandon coached me through it.

We played in the old fashioned town. Here I have Brandon held up in the bank. I am what Mommy calls a space invader. Lucky for me Brandon didn't mind...well until he did the old tuck and roll out the schoolhouse window to get away from me.

I even went down the slide for the first time.

I have been busy wearing some vintage tees from Daddy's childhood. Here I am in the midst of mowing the back patio. I always carry the dog leash around these days too. You never know when you might need it.

Our newest Saturday tradition is chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast.  Mommy and Daddy are selfish with the chocolate chips but they have started to share.  After my pancakes, we were all impressed with my chocolate face paint. I got scarily close to the Lion King look, no?

Please note I have also gotten a haircut. Baby mullet, be gone! Thanks Marianne for the best haircut ever.  Also, please take note that I am posing with my favorite accessory of the week...the dog leash. It's so hot right now.

In other strange habits, I have started climbing into my rocking chair and surfing on it...Mommy and Daddy are pretty unhappy about this...not as unhappy as they are now that I put some of the toilet paper on the roll in Leland's mouth and then chase him so he runs away.  This is a much quicker way to TP the bathroom.  I also enjoy pushing Mommy around on my riding toys. It's great baby exercise.  I am going to be the strongest baby in no time. Check it out.

Random Moments

So with all of these special posts about vacations and birthdays, you might be wondering, what does Griffin do on a normal day? Well here's a glimpse into my life as of late.

The first thing I do is wake up and go check on my farm.  I take a good hard look to make sure no one has escaped overnight then I grab pig and start hunting for some breakfast.

Eating has been touch and go lately because of my teething. Lucky for me Auntie Kate got me my own Kong for my birthday.  Mom and Dad are thrilled my chew toy is a dog toy.  This one is just my size so Mom and Dad have almost had to dislodge it from Leland's mouth once.

I went to the dentist to get my teeth checked and loved it. They had a two-story playhouse in the waiting area, video games, a mini-fridge of beverages, books and toys. And that was just the waiting room, the back rooms were pretty fancy too. Mommy said it was like a spa for kids, whatever that means. Dr. Day and her staff were so nice that I didn't cry...ok I cried a little when they did the xray but they were all super nice so I am not scarred from it. Can't wait to go back in January. Sunny Day Pediatric Dentistry all the way!

Mom and I took her car into get some work done. All the salespeople kept pushing us to go to the playroom while we waited. When we finally gave in and let them take us, this pink tea set was the best toy there. I was not impressed.

I am still not awesome about taking naps, and when I do, the dog usually wakes me up about 30 minutes into a nap.  It is not uncommon for me to pass out mid-meal or mid-play.

My days of late have been overly filled with doctor's office and hospital visits since Mimi has been sick.  We are praying her recovery speeds up but she's been a trooper! Usually the only office Mommy and I go to regularly is Mommy's allergist to get her shots.  It might be pretty boring week after week if it weren't for those nurses and office assistants...boy do I love all my lady friends at KCAA.  For real, I can't stop batting my eyes and smiling at them.  Aisha and Samantha are my favorite. Here I am at the office after these two lovely ladies spoiled me with my first sucker.  Yes, that's a sucker. Get your minds out of the gutter.

After every allergy shot, we hop on over to Scooter's coffee.  Speaking of which, Mommy entered me in a photo contest for Scooter's coffee.  She is hoping my cuteness will win her 6 months of free coffee. I figure it's the least I can do to let her use this cute mug to fill up her own mug since my lack of sleep has spawned her coffee addiction.  If you'd like to vote for us and you are on Facebook on a computer, just go to this Scooter's Photo Contest , Like Scooter's Coffee page and vote for the picture you see above.

Prayers for my Mimi

I know everyone is busy but please say a prayer for my Mimi. She was hospitalized yesterday for a complication from diverticulitis and we are praying that the IV antibiotics do their work and she can avoid emergency surgery.  Mommy said Mimi does such a good job of taking care of other people that she forgot to take care of herself.  I went to check on her today and kept trying to crawl up in bed and cuddle with her but she was in too much pain.  She tried to pacify me with some puffs but it wasn't the same. I miss my snuggles. We love you, Mimi, and are saying prayers for a speedy recovery so I can get my Mimi back. XOXO
