Five Months

I am five months old and growing like a weed...almost 17 pounds and 27 inches tall.  I like music, milk, Leland, screaming like a bird, standing, snuggling and baths. I hate naps and rice cereal.

My list of accomplishments for the week includes, doing baby push-ups, standing while holding on to the couch, and holding my bottle all by myself.

I said earlier I like to scream...This is a sampling of what Mommy gets to listen to all day.

This week I got a box of goodies in the mail. It was my first ever Christmas present. I got two pairs of Christmas pajamas, a stuffed reindeer, a Santa rattle and a snowman book.  There was a card inside but it just said Santa's Elves...Mommy thinks it's her friends from work trying to be tricky so that she can't write them a thank you card.  If you are reading this, she loves and misses you!

Leland made a special trip to the emergency vet last Saturday after ripping his nail off in the yard.  He was bleeding everywhere.  He got to come home that night on pain killers and antibiotics but had to wear a funny cone so he wouldn't mess with his foot.  He kept running into walls and getting stuck on furniture. For a dog that has no concept of his size or space, the cone didn't do him any favors.  Here he is trying to nap "next" to me.

Thanksgiving Week

This week was BUSY. Grandma and Grandpa Groesbeck came to town on their way to visit Auntie Darcy, Uncle Scott and Evan.  So we got to see them and Uncle Raleigh and Auntie Jessica on Tuesday.  Then Wednesday, Auntie Kelly and Uncle Andy drove up with Grayson, Cooper and Claire and we got lots of family time.  So we spent a lot of time at Mimi and Pa's playing with all their fun toys. To top it all off, Daddy took the whole week off to spend time with us. It was a fun and exhausting week!

Here I am bright-eyed early Thanksgiving morning.  Who needs to sleep in when there is a parade on tv?!

While the triplets slept, I was able to get some good quality time with Auntie Kelly and Uncle Andy.  I  love snuggling with them and wish they lived closer.  Here I am composing at the piano...Cooper taught me how.

On Thanksgiving, I got to meet my Great Grandma Corky for the first time. I was very fascinated by her white hair.

Here Great Grandma Corky is with two of her grandbabies and four of her great grandbabies.

Claire and I are buddies. She liked to make me swing while we talked about life.  We both love tv even though we aren't supposed to watch it.

I also got lots of boy time with Cooper and Grayson.  They can't wait to wrestle with me. In fact, I got another Harry Potter scratch because Cooper was a bit too eager to get at me.  I can't wait until I am bigger and can play with them!

Leland and I had a historic week. I pet him for the first time...sure, it was grabbing his eye ball but I actually think Leland liked it because now when I reach out for him he comes close and lets me pet him.  He also lets me ride him like a pony now. Yeehaw!

I wasted no time in getting in the spirit of Christmas. As you can see I am super excited about my first Christmas and all this Santa business.  Can't wait to meet my Auntie Darcy, Uncle Scott and cousin Evan when they come visit for Christmas!

Four Months and Then Some

Well the past couple of weeks have been a blur.  Grandma and Grandpa Groesbeck came to celebrate Grandma's birthday and I got to see Uncle Raleigh and Auntie Jessica. Here I am wishing Grandma a Happy Birthday.  I even slept through the night for the first time ever as my present to everyone!

Uncle Raleigh and Auntie Jessica spoil me and surprised me with this Dinosaur outfit. You can call me Griffisaurus.  I love it!

I'm spending lots of time in my exosaucer and am doing a much better job of standing up in it and holding myself steady.  I am also getting dangerously close to crawling.  And if you haven't noticed, my balding head is starting to fill in with light hair. Thank goodness!

I'm finally getting too big for Mommy to carry me on our Leland walks.  Shout out to Jeff and Katie Barnett for giving us Henry's stroller so Mommy wouldn't break her back anymore.
Check out how excited I was for my first ride in it.

Unfortunately, last week was a bit rough for me because I started getting my top two molars.  Nothing to see yet but I am not a happy camper.  Needless to say we haven't been getting much sleep. Mommy was so tired one day it took her until my afternoon tummy time to realize she had my pants on backwards all day.  Whoops!

I am looking forward to celebrating my first Thanksgiving with Mommy, Daddy, Mimi, Pa, Auntie Kelly, Uncle Andy, Grayson, Cooper and Claire.  I don't mean to brag but I am pretty sure the handsome guy above is who Mommy and Daddy are most thankful for this year.  :0)

4 Months

Prepare yourself...I'm going over Daddy's picture rule of 6 because it has been a very busy week.

I drove down to Plano, Texas, to see Auntie Kelly and my triplet cousins.  As you can see, it took a lot of toys to keep me entertained in the car but I was a pretty good traveler.

I spent lots of time in the "cage" with Grayson, Cooper and Claire.  They were VERY fascinated by me.  Here Grayson is explaining the rules of the land.

Cooper is the stealthy one.  He liked to be in my face, literally. He crawled into my bouncer with me to
get a better look at me. I ended up with a forehead scratch much like that of Harry Potter.

While Mommy was getting the triplets ready for lunch, she made the mistake of leaving me unsupervised with Claire...who had shown a mothering side toward me.  She came back to find her with her hand shoved in my mouth.  I am told she was playing dentist but I don't really understand what that means.

We tried to take some cousins pictures but, in the words of Auntie Kelly, trying to get three toddlers and an infant to sit still for a picture together is like herding cats.  Here are the best...please note my enthusiasm with the Halloween costumes.

This week I had my 4 month birthday and check-up.  I am 25 5/8 inches tall (75th percentile), and 15 pounds 6.6 ounces (50th percentile).  Mommy said afterwards she thought the appointment was an intervention and I am not pleased with the result...Dr. Wichman told Mommy and Daddy that I didn't have to eat before every 3 hours and they could let me cry myself to sleep.  This made for a not-so-happy Groesbeck household the rest of the week as we got on a schedule. I. Hate. It.

This week was also Halloween.  I was pretty unimpressed by Halloween as you can see. I was a Giraffe like my best friend Sophie.

I will leave you with a glimpse into our celebration of Leland's birthday...a new dog bed since he destroyed his old one.  I know this blog is supposed to be about me but I have to give a shout out to Leland for his big 3rd birthday.  Thanks for 4 months of not eating me! Here's to an infinite number more.

Almost 4 Months

Pa's 60th birthday was October 12 and I made this sign for him...ok maybe I had a little bit of help.  Mimi cooked a nice birthday dinner and we celebrated with lots of cupcakes and presents.

Mommy and I still take Lele on his walk every day.  That dog is crazy.  I have to be especially careful around him while wearing this hat because he likes to gingerly gnaw on my fluff ball.

In case you are wondering, I am still not an awesome sleeper.  Here I am, wide awake at 3 am.  My pajamas lie though, I actually party all night and PARTY all day.  I keep telling Mommy we can sleep when we're dead; she doesn't agree.

So we all remember Daddy's affinity for making me wear my rattles.  Well this picture marks the first time I put the rattles on all by myself.  As you can tell, I am pretty proud of myself.

I loved Mimi and Pa's exersaucer so much that Mommy and Daddy got me one of my own. I love it! Please note how well I am holding my head up.

Here I am talking to my exersaucer's pandas.  I love to talk and laugh right now.  I will pretty much talk to anything...people, lights, inanimate objects.  At the grocery store I yelled on the ice cream aisle so loud that I scared myself. Thank goodness I am cute or my noisiness might be annoying.

Guess who finally found his thumb? This guy.  Sometimes I gag myself with it or get my pointer finger stuck in my nose while navigating my thumb to my mouth, but I am learning.

Please meet Stuffed Sophie...she has a twin Squeaky Sophie but I don't bring her out too much because Leland is VERY interested in her.  She is a gift from Grandma and Grandpa Groesbeck and I love her. Sophie and I will be taking a road trip to Texas with Mommy and Mimi and Pa to see Auntie Kelly and my cousins while Uncle Andy is playing in New Orleans.  Daddy can't come with us because someone's gotta pay the bills but I am pretty sure he won't mind being a bachelor for the weekend!

Check back next week for the unveiling of my Halloween costume, pictures from my trip and my 4-month photo.

Three Months And Then Some

Look at me! I am three months old! So big...a whopping 14 pounds and 24 1/2 inches.  If you can't tell,  I like eating.  Mommy and Daddy are hoping I will slow down a bit because if I keep growing at this rate, the grocery bill will be astronomical.

Here Mom and Dad are messing with me again...They love to make me look funny.

Here I am in my new pajamas from Grandma Groesbeck.  I don't really know why I need pajamas though...I don't sleep.

Here I am trying out the Bumbo for the first time.  I am not going to lie, it may take two people to get my cute chubby thighs out of this chair.

Here Leland is trying to convince me to hand over my toys.  Lucky Mommy was right there or I might be toy-less.

Mommy loves my fall clothes.  She takes 10 minutes to pick out my outfit for taking Leland for a walk...Daddy tried to explain to her that no one can see me in my carrier but she doesn't care.

Here I am ready for another walk.  Please ignore the gobs of drool on my sleeve. I have been looking for my thumb and can't remember where I put it.

This is what Mommy found after Daddy let her sleep in Saturday morning.  Daddy improvised with some socks because he couldn't find the pant drawer.  I have got to say that with leg warmers, a onesie and rattles on my arm and leg, I feel a bit silly. This is why Daddy may no longer pick out my outfits.

In honor of me holding my head up all by myself and getting closer to sitting up, I have graduated from the bouncer to the exersaucer at Mimi and Pa's house. I. Love. It. I love it so much that Mommy and Daddy ordered me one and it's coming in the mail next week!

Mommy and I took Pa to the hospital to get his transfusion when Mimi was sick last week. Pa is feeling a little more energetic now...just in time for his 60th birthday on Friday!  All the nurses at St. Luke's South thought I was the cutest.  Here I am playing it cool for them.

I will leave you with a picture where I might be in a little bit of trouble.  Turns out it is frowned upon in this establishment for babies to stay up until 10:30 and then wake up almost every hour after midnight.  It's because of this behavior, that Mommy and Daddy find this book even more comical: Go the F@#$ to Sleep. I don't know much about naughty words yet but I am pretty sure you should only listen to this audio book on your home computer...if you are not around children.

Twelve Weeks

Well I this week I am feeling better after my second bout with gastroenteritis.  Here I am recovering.  Mommy tried to dress me up like Auntie Darcy. Maybe I will be a doctor like her one day!

I was lucky to get some good snuggle time in with Mimi and Pa once they got back from Estes Park. Here I am with my napping buddy, Pa.

Here I am with Mimi.  I love grandparent time even if you can't see it.  I am starting to get fascinated by technology...phones, cameras, tvs, so please excuse my lack of smiles in some of these pictures.

Grandma and Grandpa Groesbeck came to visit.  I had fun snuggling with them too. I am so lucky to have four grandparents that I get to see lots! Here I am getting ready to watch the KState game with Daddy and Grandpa.  We are all sporting our KState attire.

Here's a close-up of the game-watching outfit Uncle Raleigh and Jessica gave me.  I love it and it must have brought the Cats some luck because they won!

Here I am on the first cool day of fall. This is my first pair of jeans. I think I look pretty dapper!
