Seven Weeks

This week was pretty busy. Mommy was getting ready for surgery and our trip to Texas next week.  Here I am exhausted from all of the activity.  This is one of my rare day naps that lasted more than 10 minutes.  Mommy actually got a shower and breakfast in before I started crying...she was ecstatic!

Mommy and I went shopping at Costco and she bought me this tummy time boppy because I don't like doing tummy time except for on Mommy and Daddy's chests.  As you can tell by my face, it was a real hit.

Mommy and Kate took me shopping because everyone finally convinced her that she had to get me out of my newborn clothes and into something bigger.  Apparently the pants I have were not actually supposed to be capris.  And even though Daddy says to stop playing dress up with me, Mommy and Kate just couldn't resist.

Leland had a less than stellar week as you can see.  Among this weeks casualties: Leland's kennel pillow, my new pants and a charcoal purifier for the humidifier.

Even though Mommy wasn't really supposed to be cuddling me because I kept hitting her nose and ear where she had her surgery, she couldn't resist my sweet face.

Mommy and Daddy put the finishing touches on my nursery.  Thanks to Becca Hood and my Auntie Kelly and Uncle Andy, my walls are no longer empty.  Here is how my nursery looks:

Leland still watches from his sniper post in my room.  He likes to alert us of any squirrels, cars and salesmen.

Six Weeks

Sorry I am late posting.  Not much to report this week since I was  pretty much doing one thing...eating.   LOTS and LOTS of eating...we're talking every hour for several days.  You could say I hit my 6-week growth spurt.  I am 9 pounds now and too long to fit in my newborn clothes.  It makes Mommy really sad. She is in denial I am growing so much and keeps stuffing me into my newborn clothes.

Oh well. Here is a little of what my 6th week held:

Here we are for Mom and Dad's traditional Friday date night pizza and adult beverage.  I crashed the party so Dad and I could watch the first Chiefs game together.

When I wasn't eating this week, this is where you could find me. Sleeping on mom.  Dad still gets mad at Mommy for letting me do this and she tries to resist, but I just wear her down with my crying and refusal to sleep elsewhere.  I can be very convincing when Mommy needs sleep.

I am not really a fan of tummy time so Mommy got me a mirror to entertain myself with.  Here I am sticking my tongue out in protest.

And Mommy insisted I put this picture up because she says it shows my talent for making messes.  You will notice I am rather unhappy in this picture, perhaps because I have managed to poop from the tip of my left toe, all up my left side to my shoulder and face.  I mean, really, who else can do that?

Five Weeks

Last Friday, I had my one-month check up.  I am getting big(ger).  The pediatrician finally called me a preemie, which made Mommy feel better about me being 7 pounds, 15 ounces and in the 5% for weight, since this is not adjusted.  Dr. Wichman says I will catch up to everyone in the weight department. As for height, I am 22 inches and in the 55%.  Mommy really liked my new pediatrician because he told her its ok to put me in my crib, go outside and have a drink if I am crying a lot.  He said it will make her and Daddy feel better and that he does this too, but I don't think I like this advice....

I learned to say my prayers.

Here I am after my first trip to the mall with Mommy and Kate.  Mommy had to get some more PJ's to change into in the middle of the night because I insist on falling asleep on her chest.  While snuggling, I get a little too relaxed if you know what I mean. Whoops! I'm a baby though so what does she expect?

I got a new friend, my blue wubbanub, because Leland keeps "borrowing" my other one.

Mommy and I found this great onesie at Target.  Daddy was not amused. Oh well, Go Jayhawks!

Daddy preferred this look much better. Go Cats!

I love to snuggle. Sometimes I go take naps at Mimi and Pa's house. Here Pa and I are catching some Z's together.

I miss my Daddy while he's at work but we try to spend some quality time together every night snuggling and iPadding.

Here I am ready to root on the Chiefs.  Daddy is always telling Mommy that I am not a little Ken doll to play dress up with but I think he LOVES this outfit she put together.

One Month Old

Guess who's one month old? This guy!

It's tough being a month old...I do a whole lot of this during the day so I can stay up and party all night.

Leland has been sure to warn me of any squirrels, rabbits, cars or door-to-door salesmen that come around while I'm sleeping.  Somehow I manage to sleep through many of his warnings...

Leland and I were a little nervous after some morning thunderstorms so we snuggled up and took a nap on Mom.  She keeps trying to tell Leland he's too big for sitting on laps but he doesn't get it.

In honor of my one month birthday, Mommy and Kate took me out on my first ice cream outing.  Chocolate Devotion from Cold Stone...I remembered it from all the ice cream we had while Mom was pregnant.

 It was delicious.

My nursery is still a work in progress since I came almost a month early but I thought I would give you a preview of how it's shaping up:
Auntie Kelly and Uncle Andy made me this awesome wall hanging of my name. They are so crafty!  I love to look at it when I'm in my crib.

This is the dresser and hutch Mommy and Daddy picked out for me to hold all my books and clothes.  They are pretty proud of it!
