One Down, One to Go

It's been a busy week. Mom and I went on our first lunch date just the two of us.  I know what you're thinking-- I'm almost 15 months, why did she wait so long? Well, she's cheap! She and Daddy are a match made in heaven!

We moved Great Grandma Corky to her new room at Foxwood Springs.  It took lots of wagon trips--some of them I pulled, some of them I pushed, lots of them I rode, but we did it!

Here Great Grandma Corky and I are enjoying a snack and cuddle time in her new room.

That night, I was rewarded for my hard work with Mi Ranchito. Yummy! Thanks Auntie Kate for giving my cheap-o parents a gift card so we could eat out!  PS Don't Daddy and I look like twinsies?

I got to spend lots of Daddy- and grandparent-time this weekend as Mommy recovered from her surgery.  (Sidenote: Mommy is doing great and we are all breathing easier knowing she has nothing scary wrong with her!)  Mimi and Pa helped take care of us all on Friday and Gigi and Papa G came in for the rest of the weekend. My weekend was full of snuggles, new clothes, milkshakes and chocolate chocolate chip cookies.  I LOVE my Daddy and grandparents.

One surgery down, one to go. Mimi's surgery is on Wednesday and when all goes well, I will be snuggling her at her house by this time next week.  Mommy and I will camp out there for a week as she starts her recovery and then we will be headed off for some much-needed R&R in Breckenridge.  We appreciate all the prayers you've been sending our way this week and hope you keep them coming for my Mimi! XOXO

Red and Yellow

First and foremost, CHIEFS! I have been LOVING sitting on the couch like a big boy and watching the games with my Daddy...maybe I am not doing much watching yet but I love bouncing around and eating on the couch while Daddy watches.  I even do a little jig to my favorite Chiefs jam, "Red and Yellow."  Of course I do not condone the naughty words....

No that is not Spider Man, it's me, Griffin.  I am getting a little more resourceful these days about getting what I want.  I figured out how to reach things on my tippy toes--kitchen shears from the kitchen counter, food from the top shelf of the pantry, door knobs. That last discovery would have led me head first down the stairs if Lele hadn't body-blocked me from getting completely out the door.

I have been eating lots--both things that I am supposed to and things that I probably shouldn't.  Mommy made another call to poison control after I used a shampoo bottle as a teething toy and accidentally drank a travel size bottle of it.  Poison control laughed at her again. Whoops. She's learning though what she needs to worry about.  She didn't even flinch today when she caught me hiding in the closet sucking down a small tube of baby toothpaste.

This week I said good-bye to my good friend at Kansas City Allergy and Asthma, Aisha.  She was one of my favorite ladies to flirt with while Mommy got her allergy shots.  She got a great new job so, after years of taking great care of Mommy, she is moving on.  I am going to miss her lots!

By now you have probably heard that my family's beloved home away from home, Estes Park, was flooded.  Luckily, Mimi, Pa, Gigi and Papa G. were not there when it happened because it pretty much devastated the town roads and shops.  Not to worry though, the town came together and is already back up and running.  Here I am showing my support in my Estes t-shirt courtesy of my beloved Great Uncle Bob (Gub) and Great Aunt Deborah (Gad).  Mountain Strong, people!

Regulators Mount Up

So last weekend was Labor Day and we were busy.  Mommy and I finally went on a swim date to Great Aunt Trish's, Auntie Kate and Auntie Becca's house.  It probably wasn't the best day for a swim date since Mommy, Daddy and I pulled an all-nighter the night before but I had fun for a bit...

you know, until I passed out.

Last week was the first KSU game. It didn't go as well as this week's game but that didn't stop me from testing out my new touchdown dance.

Good news! Mommy and Daddy finally finished making the ottoman so that they can replace the death trap of a coffee table that has been abusing me for months. The bad news is that Leland thinks it makes a great sniper post for the downstairs window.  The other bad news is that the coffee table gave me a parting bruise to the face. Good riddance!

Mommy was watching the news and saw this story about a band of thieves robbing people at local coffee shops.  She realized we had met them face to face a few days earlier when we met Annie and baby Gunner for coffee.  In fact, she realized she made me give one of them a high five because they were talking to me.  Mom of the Year over here! Anyway, the good news is that after talking to the detective she felt so bad, she gave me my first sip of a Winstead's milkshake. Let me tell you, it was glorious!

Tomorrow is Grandparent's Day and I would like to give a shout out to my grandparents--Mimi, Pa, Gigi and Papa G.  I am one lucky boy to have four of the best grandparents in the world to love and spoil me rotten.  You can keep it coming! Love you forever. XOXO
